Tracument Update: Canada Post Strike Oct 2025
As you may already know, Canada Post is currently on strike, which may impact mail delivery timelines. We hope that the strike will be resolved quickly. In the meantime, Tracument has developed two key workarounds to ensure your documents continue to reach their destinations without interruption.
1. Restoration of Registered Mail
Tracument has engaged with a private courier to replace Registered Mail for the duration of the Canada Post strike. Beginning today (October 7), any mail sent through our system using the Registered Mail option will follow these guidelines:
- Timely Delivery: Mail will arrive Canada-wide within 1-5 business days, matching traditional Registered Mail timelines.
- Proof of Delivery: A signature will be required upon delivery.
- Tracking: You will receive a tracking number and proof of delivery (once the item is received).
- No Cost Increase: The charge will remain the same as standard Registered Mail with Canada Post, and Cost Recovery will continue to function as usual.
This ensures that important, time-sensitive documents can still be sent reliably, securely, and with full tracking — even during the strike.
If you depend on Tracument’s Registered Mail service regularly or are considering it for the first time, we hope this provides much-needed continuity.
Note: All mail uploaded for Registered Mail will automatically be sent through our private courier until the strike ends. If you prefer not to use this service, please hold your mail until normal operations resume or send it via non-Registered mail.
2. Regular Mail Delivery
Effective immediately, Tracument is also batching and privately delivering large volumes of mail to high-frequency destinations. These include:
- Government offices
- Hospitals and major clinics
- Law firms and other large organizations
Delivery will be handled by private couriers or hand delivery where possible. While this is not guaranteed for all mail, it allows us to reach many major recipients despite the strike.
Mail may experience slight delays as batching occurs, but based on our previous efforts during the November–December 2024 strike, over 50% of all uploaded mail reached recipients on time.
We encourage you to continue uploading mail as usual, as the more mail we receive, the broader our delivery coverage becomes.
Note: Any mail that cannot be delivered privately will be held securely and sent via Canada Post immediately after the strike concludes.
Thank You
We appreciate your patience and continued trust as we navigate this strike together. These measures are designed to minimize disruption and ensure your documents continue to move efficiently and securely.
